General Job Description

The primary role is leading, planning, and dispatching, responsible for organizing customer orders in a manner that minimizes miles traveled and maximizes cube per delivery Van. Provide an outstanding customer service experience through the planning and coordination of transportation while communicating professionally with all customers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of delivery team members, supporting, coordinating, and reviewing their work.
  • Coordinate with any required 3rd party delivery services, and ensure that the standard of service is met and maintained.
  • Monitor daily delivery operations and make real-time adjustments were needed to ensure all orders are delivered as expected.
  • Load Planning and route optimization and Identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensuring route schedules are accurate and most relevant and Coordinate special routing requests
  • Oversee delivery vehicle fleet utilization, day-to-day fleet function, and general supply management, to maximize cost efficiency.
  • Champion safe driving and work practices; support the Meridian health and safety committee in promoting a safe work environment on the road.
  • Oversee routine activities, to maximize routing density, service accuracy, and cost-efficiency
  • Work with Customer Care to resolve customer concerns and enhance services

Qualifications and Requirement’s

  • Post-secondary education in a related discipline is an asset.
  • Previous experience working in delivery logistics is required.
  • Previous team lead or supervisory experience is required.
  • History of working with food, either in service, retail, or production role, and a strong understanding of food safety and quality control processes is an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, organized with excellent time management skills
  • Desire to actively problem solve and think creatively to improve processes and complete tasks daily.
  • Possess relevant IT skills in basic MS Office applications, WMS, and routing software.
  • Excellent geographic knowledge – Greater Vancouver and the Fraser Valley
  • Material handling equipment certification (Forklift, Electric pallet-jack) or able to obtain.
  • Class 5 driver’s license required with clean driving record.
