Rib Eye Steaks in Ginger Soy Marinade

Ingredients You'll Need

  • 4 Meridian Free Range Rib Eye Steaks
  • 1/2 Cup Soy Sauce
  • 1/4 Cup Maple Syrup
  • 6 Garlic Cloves, minced
  • 1 Tbsp. Ginger, fresh grated
  • 1 Tsp. Mustard Powder
  • 1/2 Tsp. Sesame Oil
  • 1/4 Tsp. Hot Pepper Sauce
  • 1/4 Cup Root Beer


  1. In a medium size mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, maple syrup, garlic, ginger, mustard powder, sesame oil, and hot sauce; mix well to blend
  2. Add the root beer and stir lightly to mix
  3. Prepare steaks by scoring any exposed fat around the outside circumference (this prevents the steaks from curling when grilling)
  4. Place steaks in a casserole dish or zip loc bag and pour marinade over them
  5. Turn steaks over several times to coat well
  6. Keep covered (or sealed) and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or even over night
  7. Preheat barbeque to high heat
  8. Place steaks directly on grill and sear one side for about 15 seconds
  9. Turn steaks over and cook for about 5 minutes, then turn again and cook for another 4 minutes for medium rare (timing can vary based on bbq heat and outside temperatures)
  10. Bring reserved marinate to a boil and serve warm with steaks
